The goals of marketing your business haven’t necessarily changed in this day and age. The hope of any advertising, marketing or promotion you do is to bring in more customers and build revenue. However, in today’s economy and technological environment, the tools you might use to achieve marketing results are remarkably different.

“Our marketing has evolved and changed more in response to emerging technologies,” says Delores Crum, CERP, owner, Premiere Party Center/Premiere Tents and Events, Austin, Texas. “We’ve totally abandoned the Yellow Pages. We still do print advertising in various wedding publications, but I expect that will change. We’ve redesigned our Web site, but still see our Web presence as a ‘work in progress.’ We’ve added a Facebook page, fan club, blog and used Twitter. If you want to be in front of your customers, your Web presence is incredibly important.”
