The ARA of Massachusetts is offering an opportunity to attend a RenTech session designed to enhance your knowledge, skills and productivity with indirect-fired heaters. The session is sponsored by PHP, Valparaiso, Ind. The session is Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2010, at the Milford 495 Rental Center, 189 Medway Road, Milford, Mass. The RenTech runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and lunch is included with the cost of the program.

The purpose of this training is to provide rental store employees with a working knowledge of basic heater principles and theory of operation, component description and operation preventive maintenance procedures, troubleshooting techniques and safety precaution needed to work effectively and efficiently in any store setting. Topics to be covered include:

• Overview of how indirect-fired heaters operate.
• How each part in the heater functions.
• Troubleshooting common problems.
• Proper safety procedures.
• Job sizing.

The session will be led by Sean Treece, from PHP’s technical service department. Treece has been employed with PHP for eight years and has working in technical service for six. An expert in the area of portable heaters, Treece has fielded more than 20,000 calls from customers and as many as 70 calls in one day during the busy winter season.

This RenTech training is $15 for members. Prospective members pay $30.
