The election results for the American Rental Association (ARA) are in. Following are the members who will join the ARA board of directors in March 2011, at the conclusion of The Rental Show in Las Vegas:

• President-Elect: Michael Flesher, owner/president, Taylor Rental Center, Vestal, N.Y.
• Associate Member Director: Pierre Pereira, vice president, sales & marketing, Billy Goat Industries, Lee’s Summit, Mo.
• Region One Director: Russ Dagenais, owner/president, Taylor Rental Center, Wallingford, Conn.
• Region Four Director: Jimmy Pate, owner/president and CEO, Pate’s Rental, Comanche, Texas
• Region Five Director: Terry Trusgnich, owner/president, Aide Rentals & Sales II Highland, Ind.

“As a membership organization, ARA depends on members stepping forward to volunteer their time in leadership positions within the organization,” said Christine Wehrman, ARA’s executive vice president and CEO. “We are greatly appreciative to all of the members who agreed to be candidates for election to the ARA board. As well, it is rewarding to see the interest demonstrated by members in making selections for these board positions by participating in the election process. The ARA board members take their responsibility seriously in representing the ARA general and associate membership and strive to represent their interests responsibly in their deliberations and decisions.”

Ted Cook, who will take office as president at The Rental Show in March 2011, has named Terry Turner, CERP, to the board position of Party & Event Services Shared Interest Group (SIG) Chairman for a three-year term. Turner is owner of All Occasions Party Rentals in Knoxville, Tenn., an ARA member since 2002. He is a current member of the Party & Event Services SIG and also served on the Education Committee.

Cook also has appointed two directors to serve on the 2011-12 Executive Committee, alongside himself as incoming president, incoming board chairman Hal Roe and Michael Flesher, the incoming president-elect. They are Region Seven Director Joseph Muench, owner and president of Action Equipment Rental in Las Cruces, N.M., and Region Eight Director Mike Blaisdell, vice president of Bunce Rental in Tacoma, Wash. Blaisdell will be serving a second term on the Executive Committee.

Terms of service for the incoming Party & Event SIG Chairman and the incoming Executive Committee members also will begin in March 2011.

At The Rental Show, the following officer and directors will complete their terms on the board: Buddy Stubbs of Busylad Rent-All in Tupelo, Miss., Chairman of the Board; Mike Tharpe of TopTec Products in Laurens, S.C., Associate Member Director; Steve Reitter of Robinsons Rental in Hudson, Mass., Region One Director; Harold Sater of A & A Tents in Shreveport, La., Region Four Director; Gary Helfmann of A-1 Lansing Rent-All in Lansing, Mich., Region Five Director; Ben Shipper IV of Ben’s Rental & Sales in Countryside, Ill. Party & Event Services SIG Chairman.
