Brent Younker, president, Total Rental, Gresham, Ore., is the latest winner of a $100 American Express gift card. All Younker did was complete the American Rental Association’s (ARA) latest equipment rental industry survey, which was launched on July 7, and provide contact information to be entered in the weekly drawings as well as the grand prize drawing for a trip to The Rental Show in Las Vegas in 2011.

Weekly drawings will continue to be held for those who complete the survey prior to the Aug. 13 deadline. The earlier you complete the survey, the more chances that your name could be picked as a weekly winner.

“It’s great to win,” Younker said. “Surveys are another way to communicate and find things out. I found it interesting to complete this survey and I’ll look forward to seeing the results.”

IHS Global Insight, on behalf of the ARA, Canadian Rental Association (CRA) and RENTAL MANAGEMENT magazine, is conducting the survey of rental stores to help determine the current state of the equipment rental industry in North America.

The main ARA contact person for both ARA member and nonmember equipment rental businesses should have received an e-mail earlier this month and a second request message last week from either IHS Global Insight or the CRA with an online link to participate. All information provided for this survey will remain confidential. Business and personal contact information will not be sold or used for marketing activities. Survey results will be presented in aggregate form for groups of participants. Only one person per company may participate in the survey. Only the main business should complete the survey, not branch stores.

All participants who complete the survey will:

• Have the opportunity to attend a webcast in November 2010 that will present survey results.
• Be entered into a grand prize drawing to win free travel, accommodations and registration to The Rental Show in Las Vegas in 2011 (value of up to US$1,000).
• Be entered into weekly prize drawings to win a US$100 American Express gift card. A drawing will be held every week from July 12-Aug. 13. The earlier you complete the survey, the more chances that your name might be selected.
