Action Equipment, Las Cruces, N.M., has sold its Action Event Rental division to Brent and Melanie McCann. McCann previously managed the division for Action Equipment and is renaming the business High Desert Event Rental.

“We want to focus on our construction and tool business, and this will allow Brent to pursue more growth on the party and event side. We see this as a win-win situation,” says Joseph Muench, president of Action Equipment, which also operates Action Equipment Rental and Action Sales & Service. The company has a second location in Las Cruces and branches in Alamogordo and Silver City, N.M.

“We’ve been able to turn things around since we bought the business five years ago, but we also want to focus more on construction and general tool. This allows someone to take the event business and run with it. It’s also great to be able to sell the business to an employee,” Muench says.
