Your website and what it says about your company is one of the most important sales tools you can have these days as it is often the first impression some people may have of your company. Therefore, it’s important that their experience on your site is a positive one. You’ll want to make sure that you’re providing the information that people are searching for in order to make a decision on which company to do business with.

So, what does good web design entail? Here are a few tips to get you started:

  • Website visitors should be able to find most information within three clicks. Don’t make people search for basic information that should be located on your homepage.
  • Update the content of your website often. Search engines recognize changes in content and may rank your site more relevant because of content that is regularly new.
  • Your site should download in less than five seconds. Too many graphics and elements will slow this process down and may result in the visitor abandoning your site.
  • Once your site is up, use a website analytics solution such as Google Analytics to monitor visits, duration and destination pages on your website.
